be destroyed. of course, the obama administration has been warning the syrian president bashar al assad if he uses those chemical weapons on his own people there will be consequences. jennifer griffin live with us now. what are you hearing. >> there are reports tonight that syria has actually loaded those chemical weapons into bombs and that the military is awaiting assad's order to possibly use those chemical weapons against the syrian people. we can confirm that a senior u.s. official says that the saran gas is mixed and ready to use. they have 60 days to use it until it expires or it needs to be destroyed. so there is a great deal of concern tonight in the pentagon about what the assad regime plans to do with that saran gas now that those weapons have been in essence prepared and we can also report that there appear to be some movement in the region, preparations in the event that were to decide that he needed to act and to intervene because as you know president obama has said that it would be fine if president assad used those chemical weapons against his own people. >> harris: all right

not, no. it's farcical. this is a generation al issue and the obama administration is going to have to gibe at some point on its theory of law. i think a couple days the u.s. attorney in washington said the federal law trumps what you guys are going. people are going to say no, enough. and the obama administration just started ramping up prosecutions of this. this is unusual for me. >> yeah. do you agree, goldie? >> i do, except heroin is making a comeback and that's really unfortunate. but do i think the legalization of marijuana will increase its usage, i don't. people who want to partake, are already partaking. so i think that we ought to just remove the gloves, let people do what they want to do in the privacy of their own homes. free up our police to direct their things to things that are much more important. these people aren't going to get in the car and drive. hell, they can't even kind their far keys after a good joint. so the issue really is about criminalizing things and making a pathway for our young boys, chiefly boys, from the high school straight to prison. that pipel

earlier today with andrea mitchell. not quite willing to discuss his future at this point. the obama administration could announce appointments to his national security team some time in the next two weeks. according to administration officials and john kerry's name obviously is floated for two positions, secretary of defense and secretary of state. joining john kerry on the short list to replace leon panetta at the pentagon is former republican senator chuck hagel who met with president obama at the white house this week. as for hillary clinton's position at the state department, the national journal reports that president obama is, quote, genuinely conflicted over whether to pick kerry or united nations ambassador susan rice. president obama said yesterday that republican attacks against susan rice will not influence his decision. jo ari, what do you make of the chuck hagel situation with his name floating into the mix now? >> i thinkรง it's a good faith efforts to take in a wide range of views. we know that president obama in his first term, obviously, went with secretary gates d
